PH030 - Baltimore Gem Quilt

A versatile pattern for a dollhouse double bed inspired by the famous quilting patterns of Victorian Baltimore.

This pattern can be stitched on either 32 count evenweave linen or 32 count silk gauze, using DMC stranded embroidery thread.

The pattern features 1 inch square "blocks" with surrounding folk art motif borders.  It is easy to resize to fit most miniature beds by omitting a row of blocks,  omitting the borders or adding spaces to the borders.  Instructions for backing with cotton fabric are included.  Each one inch block can also be used individually as a cushion or pillow, or try a row of them to cover a bench seat.   Worked in petitpoint, this design could also serve as a rug.

Shown here in traditional red and green, this design would make an ideal addition for a Christmas themed room.  If you would prefer other colours, it is very easy to alter them to suit your dollhouse decor.  Just pick the two most dominant colours in your room and as long as there is a reasonable contrast between them, the design will co-ordinate perfectly!

Worked in cross stitch, the pattern stitches up surprisingly quickly as the background is left unworked and the design uses only two colours.

This design may also be worked in petitpoint on 32 count silk gauze, in three colours (one additional colour for the background).

Overall dimensions of the design are 4.9 x 6.3 inches (12.5 x 16 cm)
